October 2008 - Satoshi publishes the white paper

​January 3, 2009 - Genesis Block is mined and person to person (P2P) network is launched known as Bitcoin

January 10, 2009 - Hal Finney joins the network and starts mining. Harold Thomas Finney II was an American software developer. He was credited as the lead developer on several console games in his early career. Finney later worked for PGP Corporation. He also was an early bitcoin contributor and received the first bitcoin transaction from bitcoin's creator Satoshi Nakamoto. 

October 2009 - Bitcoin is exchanged for fiat $1 = 1000BTC

May 22, 2010 - Laszlo Hanyecz buys 2 pizzas for 10,000BTC

July, 2010 - Mt Gox is established as a centralized foreign exchange

December 12, 2010 - Satoshi posts publicly for the last time 

February 2011 - Bitcoin reaches $1  

June 2012 - Coinbase a bitcoin wallet is founded 

September 2012 - The Bitcoin Foundation was launched to help promote open communication regarding open-source software on a global level.

​November 2012 - Wordpress start accepting Bitcoin

May 2013 - First Bitcoin ATM is debuted

November 2013 - Bitcoin reaches $1000 February 2014 - Centralized exchange Mt Gox is hacked and market tanks, Mt Gox ends 

September 2014 - Pay pal integrates Bitcoin 

February 2015 - Bitcoin Lightning Network established in a white paper 

July 2016 - Second Bitcoin halving event, inflation drops from 25 Bitcoin mined per block to 12.5 Bitcoin minded per block
